This seems to be a simple problem. Please ensure your github repo is configured correctly to the circleCI, based on the triggers you need — like on every checkin to your master branch for e.g.

What circleCI does is that — it boots every time a new VM, git clones the latest configured branch to your working directory and then execute the steps in the sequence mentioned in your YAML.
